CLAUDIA VERÓNICA CIMÉ KÚ
She was born on February 3, 1982, in Mérida, Yucatán. Daughter of Elda María Kú May and José Domitilo Cimé Loeza. Since her childhood until today, she has lived in the community of Molas; since she was young, she showed an interest in drawing and started at the age of 7 by transferring images of figurines onto a letter-size sheet at a larger scale, It was in high school where she joined a plastic arts workshop, where she learned more about drawing and colors. At the age of 22, she deepened her knowledge of painting, practicing the spaces and strokes she knew from drawing in a course taught in her community by te theacher. Víctor Argáez Sánchez. In 2004, she has started her artistic training as a Painter under the guidance of Mtro. Víctor Argáez.
She uses a costumbrist style in most of her works, but she has also ventured into themes about animals, set of fruits and vegetables and has practiced sculpture and experimented with art Object. As a member of the Círculo Verde, they founded the Colectivo Hidalgo along with painters from other countries. She is currently still an art instructor in the neighborhoods and communities of Mérida, Yucatán.
She is a founding member of the Encuentro de Pintores de la Península de Yucatán and has participated in the First Encounter held at the Palacio de la Música in the city of Mérida and, consequently, in the Kalkiní Campeche 2nd Encounter, Tizimín 3rd Encounter, Motul 4th Encounter, Buctzotz 5th Encounter, Hecelchakán Campeche 6th Encounter, and at the International Airport of the City of Mérida, Progreso Yucatán 7th Encounter, Umán Yucatán 8th Encounter, and the Encounter of Painters from Oaxaca and Yucatán at the ARTE1010 Gallery.
Also, internationally, she participated in an exhibition in Venice with “L’assocazione culturale Progetto 7LUNE”. She also participated in 2023 with one of her works at the “Casa Rural de Maxcanú” Art Gallery in that same entity.
